We have a WINNER! Sydney Miller has been named the Muenster ISD Spelling Bee Champion. In the 2020 School Spelling Bee, after twenty-one rounds and 180 words, this sixth grader was declared the Muenster ISD 2020 School Spelling Bee Champion. The contest was held in the MISD Cafetorium on Wednesday, January 22. Miller was named the champion by correctly spelling the word contaminated.
The spelling champion was met by twenty-eight strong competitors. Sixth grader, Wade Schad, who was named 1st- runner-up, stuck it out through the end. Also receiving recognition as “Top Spellers” competing in 5 or more rounds were the top two, Miller and Schad, along with Sidney Sikes, Branson Voth, Nolan Peel, Kara Sissney, Emma Krebs, Audrey Hartman, Colt Walterscheid, Macy Bayer, and Dalton Miller.
Sydney Miller will compete in the Cooke County Spelling Bee on February 6th at the Gainesville ISD Administration Building. She will compete against the winners from Sacred Heart Catholic School, Gainesville Middle School, Robert E. Lee Intermediate School, and Chalmers Elementary School.
