Dear Parents of Transfer Students, 

We are excited to have your child attend Muenster ISD.  However, please realize that each year your child’s transfer status is reviewed by the campus transfer committee. The following stipulations, besides “class size”, must be met:

• Transfer students will demonstrate satisfactory grade level progress.  This includes grades at six-week reporting periods, as well as, results of state testing – State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR). 
• Transfer students will have an “acceptable” attendance record.  This includes “tardy” issues. Our school day begins at 7:50 a.m.  Students enter their classroom at 7:30.  The first bell rings at 7:45.  Students need to be in their classrooms ready prior to 7:50.  
• Transfer students will not have an excessive discipline record.  A transfer student involved in any major violation or several minor violations will be subject to transfer revocation. 
• School dismisses at 3:35 Monday through Friday. At the elementary level, the transfer student will be picked up no later than 3:45 p.m.

If these areas are not complied with, Muenster ISD has the right to revoke your child/children’s transfers. All cases are reviewed on an individual basis. 

ONCE APPROVED FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR:

1.  Withdrawing from Muenster ISD during the year your student`s transfer was accepted, will nullify the approval status for your student the remainder of the school year.
2. Failure to attend the first day of instruction; will nullify acceptance for the entire school year in which the student was approved.

Transfer applications for new and returning students for the 2026-2027 school year will be open online starting April 1, 2026. Please fill out application before May 8 to be notified by mid-June. 

Please be aware when you are registering your students online that you will also need to fill out a transfer application as well. 

Go to this webpage (https://www.muensterisd.net/departments/registration) and complete the online form under the TRANSFER section.  After acceptance, complete the registration online.
