I am excited to become a part of the Muenster family as the new Elementary School Counselor. I graduated from Gainesville High School in 2002 and earned a bachelors degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth in 2006. I completed my first Master's degree from Southern Methodist University in Church Ministries in 2011. In June 2021, I began my second Master's program at Lamar University in School Counseling and will graduate in December 2023. I have been in education for 10 years having taught 4th-8th grades in Gainesville, Saint Jo, and Walnut Bend. 

I believe that every child has the right to not only receive an academic education but a social-emotional education as well. I aim to provide education, support, and short term counseling to any student that needs it. Students can stop by my office and fill out a card to speak with me and I will get them when I am available and their schedule allows.

The goal of the school counselor is to help ALL students be successful. The elementary counselor helps students socially and emotionally by meeting with them in their classes for guidance lessons, in small groups and as individuals as needed. Academically, the counselor can provide tools to aid in success like study stratgies or dealing with text anxiety. Counselors can also help develop a students sense of self, help them gain confidence and see their personal strengths. Our goal is to provide what the students need to help them be successful.

Your student can let their teacher know that they would like to speak with the counselor.

The student can stop by the office and fill out a slip outside of the counselors office.

The parent can call or email and request to speak to the counselor or have the counselor speak with their student.
