Welcome Parents and Guardians

At Muenster ISD, we are committed to supporting the growth and success of every student. Our Comprehensive School Counseling Program follows Texas state law (TEC §33.005) and the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs. This program ensures that each child receives guidance in academic, career, personal, and social development.

Our school counseling program is organized around four key areas:

1. Guidance Curriculum
   Planned classroom lessons and activities that help students develop skills in academics, decision-making, career awareness, and social-emotional learning. 
2. Responsive Services
   Individual or small group support for students who need help with personal concerns, crises, or challenges that may impact their learning.
3. Individual Planning
   One-on-one support for students as they set educational, career, and personal goals. This includes assistance with course planning and transitions to the next school level.
4. System Support
   Cooperation and collaboration with staff, families and community to advocate for student needs to ensure a supportive environment for all students. This includes program evaluation, professional development, and outreach.

• Counselors must spend at least 80% of their time on counseling duties (the four components above).
   
• Parents have the right to be informed about services provided to their child.
   
• Some activities may require parental consent, and you will be contacted before participation.
   
• Our school’s program is evaluated annually to ensure it meets state requirements and student needs.

Through this program, students will:

• Learn academic and career readiness skills.
   
• Develop strong social and emotional skills.
   
• Receive support when facing personal or family challenges.
   
• Gain confidence in setting and working toward personal goals.

• Participating in parent information sessions.
   
• Communicating regularly with your child’s counselor.
   
• Reviewing and supporting your child’s academic and career planning.
   
• Providing feedback on the counseling program.
