My name is Marlene R. Fisher, RN,BSN and I have been the school nurse at Muenster ISD for the past 19 years.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Woman's University and current Texas Registered Nurse license maintained since 1978 
  • Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas from June 1978 to August 1983 in Pediatrics. While at Parkland, I worked as a pediatric staff nurse, Assistant Head Nurse, and Nurse Coordinator for a pediatric department and pediatric emergency room; and as a Pediatric Trauma Nurse in the first Level I Pediatric Trauma Unit in the Southwest. 
  • Denton Regional Hospital Pediatric Department from 1987 to 1992 as well as in a private Pediatric office.
  • School Nursing at Era ISD in the spring of 1993, and then started at Muenster ISD in the Fall of 1993 to the present.

MY FAMILY:

I have been blessed in so many aspects of my life. I have been married for 35 wonderful years to my best friend.  I have 3 awesome children and a lovely daughter-in-law; 
they all graduated from 
MISD '99, '00, '03 and '05
and have ALL graduated from
Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Aggies '03, '04, '07, and '09... WHOOP!!   
12th Man 
 
I have 2 grandsons that keep me young, and proud to be called "NANA"

My main focus, as the school nurse, is the well-being, health promotion and health maintenance of the students at MISD and the MISD staff.
 
This web site will offer: seasonal health information, immunization requirements, health alerts that are pertinent to the community, and other health information that may be of interest to students, staff and parents.
